The Nadawa Young Boys team will need to step up if they need to make a mark in the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s tournament on March 24-25 at the ANZ Stadium, Suva.

Formed three years ago, the side has been taking part in local tournaments like the Uluinikau and Fiji Bitter Nawaka 7s.

Team manager Walesi Dakuroko said they are expecting a tough competition.

“Despite not having proper facilities for training, our preparations are on track” Dakuroko said.

“The 15 players have been doing road runs and are looking forward to participate in their first Marist tournament.

“We know the competition will be tough but we train to deliverer the best at the biggest local sevens tournament.”

Dakuroko was grateful for the assistance of their supporters for taking up the initiative to raise funds for the side.

“We don’t really have any sponsors so we as a team and the supporters have been doing our own fundraising to cater for the team’s expenses.

“We are looking forward to this tournament as we are anticipating a good outing.”
