Jasper, Natabua Dominate Comp

Traditional champions Natabua High School and Jasper Williams High School defended the boys and girls titles respectively at the Coke Zero Lautoka Secondary Schools Athletics Zone meet at Churchill Park in Lautoka yesterday.
Natabua High recorded 41 gold, 21 silver, and 10 bronze medals ahead of Ba Provincial Free Bird Institute (4, 3,4), Yasawa High third (2,0, 5).
The girls from Delainamoli recorded a massive 39 gold, 22 silver and 21 bronze medals, Magodro Secondary second (3,0. 2), Natabua High third (2, 11, 6).
A total of 37 records were broken during the two-day meet at the new facility.
Meanwhile, Natabua High’s Shane Tuvusa and Kinisimere Bote scooped the Coke Zero Lautoka Secondary School Zone best male and female awards respectively.
Tuvusa,who represented Marist Brothers High, Xavier College was over the moon for his achievement at the new track in the sugar city.
The Year 13 student won gold in the 100m, 200m and the 4×400 metres relay senior boy’s events.
“I am happy for the award, but I was focusing on the blue ribbon event and just did my best,” he said.
“I am looking forward to the Coke Games, I hope to win gold in the blue ribbon event in Suva,” the Natalecake, Ba native said.
Bote, a student of Magodro High took out gold in the 1500m and the 3000m race.
