Theft accused 3 appear in court

Three people appeared at the Suva Magistrates Court yesterday charged with theft.
The case was called before Chief Magistrate Usaia Ratuvili.
Shirvendra Deo Singh, 44, Donavan Kinesh Prasad, 26 and Shaiz Safra Hussain, 40, are alleged to have dishonestly appropriated a vehicle which had a value of $20,000.
The alleged incident occurred between November 14 and 15 last year at Nabua.
Police prosecutor Corporal Josua Shaw served full phase disclosures and did not object to bail, but asked the court to impose a curfew.
Defence lawyer, Prena Preetika objected to the curfew on the grounds that Singh owns a garage and works continue during the night thus imposing a curfew would affect his livelihood.
Chief Magistrate Ratuvili granted bail to all the accused in the sum of $500 each with two sureties who signed a surety bond of $500 each.
All accused are to surrender their travel documents and are to report to the nearest Police station on Wednesdays and Fridays.
The case has been adjourned to April 13 for mention.
