Thirty two (32) drivers will be rewarded during the annual Fiji Car Club (FCC) Awards Night at the Yue Lai Hotel, Suva on Saturday.

Pacific Energy has provided a sponsorship of $3,500 for the awards night.

Club president Raizal Haniff said they are proud to be associated with Pacific Energy and look forward to an eventful night.

“We are very proud to be associated with the number one oil brand in Fiji,” Haniff said.

“Not only Pacific Energy has sponsored our races for $25,000 last year, they continued to help us.

“So we are looking forward to an exciting night ahead and with Pacific Energy help we hope for it to be a successful one.”

Meanwhile, Pacific Energy business manager lubricants  Tapuaki Finauga, said they came on board to support FCC to support the growing talent in the country and to spread the message of road safety.

“Pacific Energy actually came in and supported the drag races in 2016 and there are a few things that actually got us excited to support the drag races,” Finauga said.

“One of it is basically to support the growing talent, there are a number of racers that the FCC wanted to nurture and we wanted to come in and support and provide that sponsorship and conduct that programme successfully.

“The other thing is we all know the growing number of accidents on our roads and the FCC, with their racing competition, provides a great platform where we can share the safety message.

“And share with the drivers and the public at large in terms of the skills that they need to learn in order to be safe out there on the roads.

The awards night will start at 7pm at Yue Lai Hotel on Saturday.
