The Fiji Human Resources Institute (FHRI) is urging business houses and human resource (HR) practitioners to apply for the upcoming FHRI Awards night.

This was highlighted by the FHRI president Kameli Batiweti.

“We strongly urge companies to nominate their Human Resources personnel and book tables early for the awards night,” Mr Batiweti said.

He added: “This year we have some wonderful prizes for the winners of the three categories so please nominate the right people as this will cost you nothing.

“Applications are now open and will close on the 18 th of April.”

He added a lot of interest has been shown by different business houses but the institute had not received any applications so far.

He added: “This is the first time the awards night will be held separately as the awards night used to happen with the yearly congress.

“We have also included the evaluators and panel of judges in the selection criteria for the short listing of recipients of the awards.”

The institute has been receiving membership applications from last year and is optimistic of increasing the current numbers.

“There has been an increase in membership. There is an additional 45 members from November 2016 to February this year,” he said.

The 2017 FHRI awards will be held on the 27 th of May at Holiday Inn Suva.

Corporate tables can be booked for $1500 whereas those intending to buy tickets separately can pay $150 per person.

FHRI is expecting around 150 tables for the awards night.
