Queen Victoria School (QVS) took out the 4×100 metres event from the sub-junior to the senior grade in the Tailevu Zone on Wednesday at the ANZ Stadium, Suva.

Trainer Saimoni Liutaki said the athletes have been through a lot and for them to keep coming back and proving themselves is a proud moment for the school.

“I am really proud of what the boys have done, we won all our grades and that was a real challenge for us,” Liutaki said.

“We did not have an easy time as were behind three weeks in preparation compared to other schools.

“The boys were told to do their best no matter what, I mean at the end of the day that is all we can ask from our athletes.

“But despite the challenges the boys did their best and showed true Victorian spirit and they made the  ex-scholars and the parents proud.”

While they had a clean slate in the zone in the 4×100 metres, Liutaki said they still have a lot to improve on in time for the Coca Cola Games next month. Edited by Osea Bola
