  Ratu Navula College stamped their mark after winning the boys and girls division respectively at the Nadi Secondary School Athletics Zone meet at Prince Charles Park in Nadi yesterday.

Ratu Navula College stamped their mark after winning the boys and girls division respectively at the Nadi Secondary School Athletics Zone meet at Prince Charles Park in Nadi yesterday.

Reigning boys champion Ratu Navula proved too strong as they bagged 26 gold, 13 silver and 13 bronze medals, Sangam Sadhu Kuppuswamy Memorial second (15, 10, 5), Swami Vivekanda College third (14, 11, 20).

Ratu Navula College won the girls division with 10 gold, 6 silver and 2 bronze medals, second was Sangam Sadhu Kuppuswamy Memorial (8,4,1), Swami Vivekananda College third  (7, 3, 12).

A total of 23 records were broken at the two-day event.

Best male athlete was Carlos Liwaiono who won gold in the 100 metres and 200m.

Promising Luisa Lewalia of Votualevu College scooped the best female athlete award for her impressive performance winning the 100m and 200m finals.

She is looking forward to running in the Coca-Cola Games and would do her utmost best to win gold for her school.

“I am confident of making a good outing,” she said.
