Legal advice
Law students will do well to sit in Judge Justice Salesi Temo’s court room. He has never been one reluctant to call out prosecution or defence lawyers in their shortcomings. His courtroom is one of the best places to pick up dos and don’ts of the court house.
Face-to-face scammers
Now forget about the online, phone scams circulated on social media.
This one was done face to face – but luckily no money was exchanged.
Here is how it was done: Two men in their mid 40’s produced a letter with an official address, logo and even a TIN number.
The letter stated they were part of a youth group looking for funds to assist youth back in the village.
Luckily the likely victim did no have any money with him and suggested that they come back later.
After some fact checking, the TIN number on the letter belonged to an individual, the name of the youth group was a village in the West while the men posing as agents for the group were from the Central division.
Talk about big time con artists!!!
