The Suva Grammar School Old Scholars Association held a church service at the school hall on Sunday.

Association’s president Stanley Simpson told SUNsports that this was part of their quarterly event for the year.

Simpson said the initiative was to assist the school in improving their standards in sports and academic work as well.

“It is important for us to be associated with the school in both good and bad times,” he said.

“The association is now looking to see the school reach higher standards especially in terms of achieving better results.

“I know changes cannot happen overnight but we believe working together we can take the school to a much better place.”

Simpson is hopeful the school would improve their performance in the Suva Zone Two athletics competition and later the Coca-Cola Games.

“On behalf of the ex-scholars we would like to convey our best wishes to all the Grammar athletes for the Suva Zone Two on Friday and Coca-Cola Games next month,” he added.
