Coming to Fiji was not a hard decision at all, says the director of sales and marketing for Marriott Resort Fiji Momi Bay, Michelle Scott.

“We are really excited to be opening the first Marriott in Fiji and having such a unique product,” she said yesterday.

“I’ve always watched as this hotel developed and designed and having to come here wasn’t a hard decision at all.

“There will be a lot of exciting things at the resort, so it’s about bringing my knowledge and my experience to the team and motivating the team.”

Experience

Ms Scott leads the sales and marketing team and is responsible for all aspects of the 250-room property’s sales and marketing strategies. She reports direct to general manager Silvano Dressino.

Ms Scott brings more than 20 years of hotel industry experience and held senior sales positions within the Marriott International group. Most recently. she was a highly successful director of sales for Brisbane Marriott Hotel.

Before this she spent five years at Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort and Spa, again achieving sales success.

Ms Scott said the Momi Bay location is very convenient to tourists, with only a 45 -minute ride from Nadi International Airport.

“The location is wonderful, it’s almost like the untouched part of Fiji and it gives us something new to experience as well,” she said.

This is her first time in Fiji along with her husband and two children.

“The people are beautiful and very welcoming. Coming in with my children and my husband,we made friends really quickly, so it’s a great lifestyle for my family as well.”

Features of the resort

The resort features 250 guest rooms, including 22 unique over-water Bure Villas.

Offering unrivalled lagoon and ocean views in a serene setting, the resort provides guests with an elegant, island-inspired experience.

The resort will boast three distinct restaurants and bars, as well as a conference centre, three large swimming pools, man-made lagoon and private white-sand beach access.

It is built on 103 acres of land and was developed by property owners Fiji National Provident Fund.
