Vodafone Fijian 7s forward Jasa Veremalua is excited to be back in the 14-member squad for the Hong Kong-Singapore World Sevens Series leg next week.

Missing the last two legs due to family commitment, Veremalua is amped up and ready for the challenge.

“It is really good to be back after I missed the last leg due to family commitment,” Veremalua said.

“It has been a tough couple of days in training but I am glad to be back with the boys and training with them

“We all know how important the next leg is and it is important for us to do well in So Kon Po and Singapore.

“It will not be an easy task for us but the boys are ready and geared up and we have been working on the little things that we need to improve on.

“We have a great bunch of boys, both young and experienced and we will play for each other.”

Veremalua said discipline and defence are the two areas that the team needs to improve on if they want to stay consistent in the tournament.

“Discipline and defence has been some of the areas that let us down so we need to tidy that up,” he said.

“The boys need to work together and we also need the support and prayers from fans.”

The team left this morning for Hong Kong and will use their time to acclimatise ahead of their first game on Friday (April 7) against Japan at 11:54pm.
