“We thought to provide these because it would help them to transport themselves in interior areas to improve on their community service works,” said Home and Living operations manager Ronald Narayan

The Caubati Community Police Post yesterday received two new Falcon brand bicycles from Vinod Patel’s Home and Living.

Community Police Post officer Willy Naqura, said the handing over of the bicycles was a memorable moment for the officers as it would be a big help in attending to calls.

“These bicycles will be used by our trained officers covering areas from Cunningham to Centerpoint,” Mr Naqura said.

“Normally we get calls of domestic violence and burglary but if in cases of emergency, we have to rely on the Valelevu Police Station which is equipped with transportation, to attend as we do not have any transport to attend to cases on time.”

Vinod Patel Home and Living operations manager, Ronald Narayan said the handover of the bicycles was part of the company’s community work.

“One day the boys came to our branch looking for bicycles so we thought of giving two bicycles to the Community Police Post,” Mr Narayan said.

“The value of the bicycles are about $1000 and are made in China.

“These types of bicycles are used by cyclists around the world and we thought to provide these because it would help them transport themselves to interior areas in a bid to improve their community service works,” Mr Narayan said.
