Public footpaths, which are tax payer funded is built to serve a purpose, that does not include graffiti, says Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) chief executive officer, John Hutchinson

Mr Hutchinson made these comments as a foothpath at Votualevu in Nadi which was under progress of widening and construction was vandalised with writing by unknown person(s).

“It may be a fun thing to do for some, but the consequence of these mindless acts, FRA having to replace at cost, ultimately affects the tax payer dollars,” Mr Hutchinson said.

He said this money could have been better spent by FRA on other transport infrastructure priorities.

He said FRA continued to battle with the issue of vandalism.
