Trial Date Set For Rape Case

The trial of four men who are alleged to have raped a 13-year-old boy has been set for October 23 to November 3.
The four accused, each charged with one count of rape, pleaded not guilty at the High Court in Suva yesterday.
The case was called before Judge Justice Salesi Temo.
The accused persons vary in age between ages 36 and 53 years old.
The alleged incident happened between November 3 and November 31, 2015 at a village in Tailevu.
Three accused were represented by defence lawyer Nemani Tuifagalele, while the fourth opted for Legal Aid Commission representation.
The state prosecution was represented by Susan Serukai.
The case has been adjourned to May 29, for the state to explain the case theory.
