Leadership Fiji received a boost of $15,000 for their 2017 programme from the New Zealand High Commission.

The New Zealand acting High Commissioner, Amanda Vercoe presented a cheque for $15,000 to the executive director of Leadership Fiji, Sharyne Fong.

“New Zealand High Commission values and supports the effort of Leadership Fiji in the development and enhancement of the quality of future Fiji Leaders,” Ms Vercoe said.

“We have been associated with the programme since its inception in 2002 and over the years it has enriched and nurtured the skills of many young leaders.”

The core role of Leadership Fiji is to assist emerging leaders to cope with the demands of a changing world so that Fiji reaches its full potential.

Ms Fong said the programme provided an opportunity for the development of a new generation of leaders equipped to take Fiji forward as a united dynamic nation.

“It exposes participants to leaders from across the society, in a structured manner, providing them with the opportunity to deepen their understanding of their country, its history, economic and social structure,” Ms Fong said.

Around 350 leaders from various backgrounds and careers have graduated from the programme and are part of the vibrant and enthusiastic alumni.
