New Resort Boosts Locals

Experienced staff from different Marriott hotels, mainly in Australia, are helping the launch of the Marriott Resort Fiji Momi Bay.
“We have our overseas staff here to assist the local staff get trained and help create a memorable experience to our customers,” says general manager, Silvano Dressino.
“One of our missions is to promote and develop local talents.
“This is the hotel of the Fijian people, so we will put a big focus on certain programme that will help our local staff.”
The 250-room resort is developed and owned by Fiji National Provident Fund.
Marriott-the world’s biggest hotel group is managing it and establishing Marriott’s high standards in all areas but with a Fijian touch says Mr Dressino, adding: “One unique feature of the Fijians is their Bula smile, that is one thing that we don’t need to teach them again because it’s their nature, and it runs in their blood.
“This makes it a perfect opportunity for all Fijians to work in the hospitality industry because they’re just so friendly.”
Keen to open the first Marriott in Fiji, Mr Dressino said they currently had about 300 staff but would increase it to 400 in time.
The five star resort has unique settings with overwater villas.
It is guaranteed that Marriott Resort Fiji, Momi Bay, is definitely a place to visit.
Even if you are not staying for the night, having a romantic dinner with families and loved ones and served with delicious Italian food won’t be a bad idea at all.
Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama is scheduled to open the resort next Saturday.
Marriott operates over 5900 properties worldwide.
