Surviving the long nights and drinking at least three cups of black coffee to complete assignments, has paid off handsomely for Sidharth Kumar.

The 22-year-old scooped three gold medals at the University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Medal and Prizes Ceremony last week.

Mr Kumar scooped gold medals for the most outstanding bachelor of commerce graduate, most outstanding graduate with a major in accounting and most outstanding graduate with a major in economics.

He studied bachelor of commerce majoring in accounting and economics at USP and is currently an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Suva.

Mr Kumar said he was proud and happy with this achievement.

“I was extremely elated. The  satisfaction you get when you accomplish your goal that you had set initially – it cannot be described in words. The sense of accomplishment,” he said.

“And the smiles and the praises received from the near and dear ones (family from Fiji and abroad, mentors, lecturers and tutors and friends). They were more excited than me.”

Mr Kumar thanked his family, lecturers, tutors and friends for their guidance and support.
