TD19F Unlikely To Form Into  Cyclone:  Weather Office

 

Tropical Disturbance 19F has no potential to develop into a cyclone in the next 24 to 48 hours, the Nadi weather office has said.

Fiji Meteorological Services director Ravind Kumar said yesterday TD19F was moving South at about 10 knots.

“The Tropical Disturbance which is said to have been located in the South East of Samoa and is moving southwards but has no direct threat to Fiji,” he said.

“However a trough of low pressure associated with the disturbance is expected to drift over the group later in the week.”

The public are advised that they could expect unsettled weather through the weekend.

“Please take precautionary measures of alert, warnings and advisory whenever they are issued,” Mr Kumar said.
