Lions Confident To Take Top Spot

The Advanced Parts Labasa soccer team is adamant to book top spot in the Vodafone Premier League points table.
The Babasiga Lions will play JIL Dreketi tomorrow at Subrail Park at 7pm.
Labasa Football Association vice president Varun Anand said the team would use the same game plan from last weekend’s match against Ba.
“We are in the second position in the points tally with seven points behind Lautoka with nine,” Varun said.
“Our aim is to qualify for the O-League and this year we are going to break every barrier to achieve what we have planned.
“Our coach, Ronil Lal is still in Suva attending his coaching licence training and will join the team this weekend,” he said.
Varun and team manager Ravinesh Chand are taking over the team in Lal’s absence.
“Dreketi is a very tough and good team and we do not under estimate them,” Varun said.
Waqa rested
Labasa will miss the services of veteran Taniela Waqa as he is still recovering from injury.
Meanwhile, JIL Dreketi assistant coach Roneel Ram said the team was confident to play a good match.
“The players are working on their defence structure and strategies,” Ram said.
