Cakaudrove prepare for Vanua battle
The Cakaudrove Rugby Union aims to hold a friendly match against Army next Saturday.
This is to prepare them for the upcoming Vodafone Vanua Championship.
CRU committee member, Pita Ralaca said yesterday the players are camping in Nagigi, Savusavu.
“We are working on our talented players as well,” he said.
“Our training session is conducted by head coach Rayne Simpson since he has moved from Australia to Savusavu with his wife Megan.
“The players will take a week’s break from tomorrow as they wait for the friendly match against Army.
“The venue is yet to be confirmed.
“In our current squad we have players who have also participated in the Skipper Cup competition.
“We have 45 players in camp but only 32 will be selected after the clash against Army as they will actually form the Cakaudrove team.
“Our aim is to win this championship so that we can qualify for the Skipper Cup competition.”
