New Executives To Run Suva Rugby

A new team of executives were elected unopposed to manage the affairs of the Suva Rugby Union from 2017-20.
They were elected during the SRU annual general meeting last night.
Former Vodafone Flying Fijians manager Captain (Navy) Humphery Tawake, current Commander of the Fiji Navy was elected as Suva Rugby Union president.
Lieutenant-Colonel Penioni Naliva, Commanding Officer 3FIR was elected chairman, Paula Raqeukai as secretary and Kelepi Funilagi as treasurer.
The committee members composed of Tevita Tuilau, Aminiasi Qima, Peceli Derenalagi, Polito Cama and banker Orisi Matakasa.
Outgoing chairman Timoci Nakaruru congratulated the incoming executives and wished them all the success in spearheading SRU’s aspiration to become a dominant player in Fiji provincial rugby.
The SRU club competition will commence on April 22. Incoming secretary Paula Raqeukai has called on SRU clubs to pay in their annual affiliation fees by Thursday, April 13.
