Bollywood producer and actor Raman Khanna, has returned to bring another slice of Bollywood entertainment to Fiji.

His passion for performing arts and love for the people of Fiji led him to plan five shows in November this year.

For Labasa, this will be the third time people will see his performance, but it will be a first for the audience in Savusavu.

The dynamic artist travelled from India to Fiji this week to meet his old friends and numerous business men and women in Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, having discussions about his shows.

“I have already laid out posters and decided which artists to bring to Fiji,” Mr Khanna said.

“I am going to handpick artists from Bollywood, other potential artists from other institutions and of course, I will pick some artists from Fiji to be part of my show.

“I always took people who have talent.”

He said more than 40 people in the Bollywood film industry started their first or second overseas shows with him.

Within 10 to 11 years, Mr Khanna has covered shows in 25 countries.

He has performed in most of the reputable halls and arenas of the world, including the MGM Casino in Las Vegas, SkyCity in Auckland, Royal Albert Hall in London, Madison Square Garden in New York, the Opera House in Sydney and many more.

When asked why he continued with entertainment, Mr Khanna said: “This is the industry I live in, which has given me love, security and economic success.

“We are artists, not business people; we need love.

“Let the show deserve its merit.

“I love the people of Fiji and I want to give them the show which they never witnessed before and just give them a satisfaction of our entertainment.

“With 40 years of experience, I will bring the most electrifying show to Fiji again.

“I can still remember when I came on my own to Fiji with a commitment and did 15 shows in 17 days.

“I met owners of Punjas, Gokals, Damodar, Vinod Patel and others.

“So I did three shows in Fiji in 1984, 1995 and then 2005

“I did shows first in Lautoka, Ba, Rakiraki, Nausori and Labasa.

“I promise you that I will give the best entertainment, provide affordable ticket prices and mind blowing entertainment with good comedy, talented actors and dancers.”

Mr Khanna plans to do five shows here in November, 2017.
