The Fiji National Rugby League looks forward to hosting their first ever Fiji Primary Schools Rugby League finals, which kicksoff at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori today.

This was confirmed yesterday by event co-ordinator Lai Corerega during a press conference in Suva.

“On Saturday we will have our first finals for the primary schools as this is held in conjunction with FNRL and we are grateful to have this occasion,” he said.

“Following the primary schools finals will be the secondary schools finals.”

He also indicated that NRL rugby league legend and former Fijian Bati captain Petero Civoniceva will be the chief guest.

“I’m really excited to see young boys and girls compete as this is the future of the Fijian rugby league.

“No doubt I’m expecting these students competing on Saturday to be wearing the Fijian Bati jersey in the future,” Civoniceva said.
