Bulileka Students Donate To Boca Couple

A group of students from Bulileka Sanatan College have offered their services to the Kumar family in rehabilitating their home which was lost in a fire last month in Labasa.
The group of 26 students – who form the Duke of Edinburgh international award club in their school – visited the family at their Boca home on April 8, 2017, bringing tears to eyes of the grateful couple who received them with open arms.
Leading the students was their co-ordinator and school teacher Ranjan Sharma, who said this was a good learning exercise for the students to enable them to be good citizens.
“Not all learning happens in the classroom. Young people need experiences outside the classroom to become committed, responsible and fulfilled citizens of our nation,” Mr Sharma said.
“This programme equips young people for life regardless of their background, culture, physical ability, skills and interests.”
Mr Sharma said the programme ran in three categories – gold, silver and bronze – and the school has 33 students bronze and 26 in the silver category.
