Duo Fronts Court For Vehicle Theft
Two men charged with the theft of a motor vehicle appeared at the Suva Magistrates Court yesterday.
The case was called before Magistrate Shageeth Somaratne.
Mitnesh Kumar and Nikeel Krishneel are alleged to have dishonestly appropriated two hybrid vehicles that had a total value of $37,000, the property of City Cars.
The alleged incident occurred between August 27, 2016, and December 31, 2016. Kumar is represented by defence lawyer Roneel Prakash and Krishneel is represented by Jiten Reddy.
Police prosecutor Corporal Josua Shaw did not object to bail, but asked the court to impose strict bail conditions.
Magistrate Somaratne granted the accused pair a cash bail of $1000 with one surety each, who signed the bond
They both are also to report to the nearest Police station. The case has been adjourned to May 3, for plea.
