Labasa TIV Set To Play

The Labasa TIV football team are determined to win the Super Premier division of the Sangam Convention tournament to be staged at Subrail Park, Labasa this weekend.
The annual tournament will be from Friday to Monday.
Labasa TIV coach Rajendra Narayan said they have never won before and as host they are determined to win.
“We have a good chance of winning as two district reps have been training with us for a month,” Narayan said.
“They are midfielder Edwin Sahayam and Krishneel Krishna from Dreketi. Also former Dreketi rep Kushal Naicker who is playing for Bua in the Vodafone Senior League and former Labasa striker Ajesh Narayan are now training with us.”
They face Vitogo in their pool opener on Friday at 3pm.
Then India Valibar (TIV) national vice-president, Ajesh Mudaliar said Nadi are the defending super premier division champions while Nadroga are the premier division title holders as Salovi Masters are the veterans champ.
“There are 47 teams and 1000 athletics including those from overseas that are taking part.
“The super premier and premier divisions will be played in four pools while the senior and veterans will have two pools each.”
