Reddy Opens New Classroom For Tiny Tots

The tiny tots of Dreketi Sangam School will now enjoy learning in their new $40,000 classroom thanks to the Government of the day.
The new (ECE) Kindergarten classroom which was officially opened by Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts, Mahendra Reddy, is a boost to the students living along the Dreketi Feeder Road in Saweni, Lautoka .
The commissioning of the newly built classroom was done last week.
Kindergarten teacher, Pooja Narayan, said they had always wanted to give the best for these students.
She said the students couldn’t wait to explore what the new classroom would bring them.
“We are very thankful to the Ministry for helping the school build the new classroom, as you can see in the faces of the children how happy they feel,” Ms Narayan said.
“This has boosted our children to another level and most importantly make them feel comfortable while learning.”
Mr Reddy, while expressing his gratitude, said they were looking forward to building a new library and computer lab for the school.
“This assistance is just the beginning, we are looking to build a new Library and Computer Lab in Line, and we are here to provide the financial support,” Mr Reddy said.
“We value Foundation based education, Early Childhood Education sets up the base for all education,” he said.
Mr Reddy acknowledge the vision of the forefathers who wanted their children to have education, because most of them did not.
“They constructed schools in districts, collected money and sacrificed, these sacrifices our forefathers made have been seen here today,” he said.
The Early Childhood Education centre caters for 11 students.
