Vodafone Fiji’s chief executive officer, Pradeep Lal yesterday congratulated the Vodafone Fijian 7s team for a great win in Hong Kong.

“It had everything- heart stopping one moment and sheer brilliance the next,” Lal said.

“The nation demanded it and the team delivered an emphatic victory. They have been under a lot of pressure lately but they answered in the best way possible through the epic win at the Hong Kong Sevens yesterday,

“Hong Kong has always been a lucky hunting ground for Fiji and this three-peat of win shows the team is on the right track to regain its status as the best sevens team in the world. The whole nation got behind the team as everything came to standstill.

“This win brought back smiles across the country and dedicating the win to children on Palm Sunday by captain, Osea Kolinisau made the win even sweeter for all.”

Lal said they wish the team all the best for the Singapore 7s this weekend.

“Congratulations and job well done to the Vodafone Fiji 7s team, coach Gareth Baber and management for an exhilarating win.  You all have done Fiji proud. Go Fiji Go.”
