Former National and Nadi robust centre Savenaca Aria has been named as the head coach for Jacks Nadi in the 2017 local provincial rugby.

This is part of the new team management announced by the Nadi Rugby Union to look after the affairs of the teams (Senior and Under 20).

The 52-year-old Nawaka native had a beyond reasonable record as a player and coach over the years.

Aria has been a formidable coach for Police side in the annual Sukuna Bowl encounters clinching the title away from Army.

NRU secretary Ilimeleki Navula said the appointment was done after an extensive review of the applicants which was conducted in-house and the review of the Team’s performances for the past two seasons.

“After much deliberation of the Selection Sub-Committee and upon the endorsement of the executive committee,” he said.

“The Union believes that the gentlemen who have been appointed have the required knowledge, skills and technical expertise to improve the performances of the teams this season.”
