Seaqaqa Central College focuses on exposing their athletes as they prepare for the much anticipated Coca-Cola games on April 20-22 at the ANZ Stadium.

School’s Head of Physical Activity, Music and Arts Department Vinay Singh says they are sending 24 athletesand this is the biggest contingent the school has ever sent.

“Our aim is not just to win but get these young athletes exposed to another platform of competition.

“The school began participating in the Coke Games from last year and unfortunately we didn’t bring any medals.

“However, we have trained and prepared the athletes well both mentally and physically this year,” Singh said.

School’s intermediate boy’s 1500m runner Mohammed Altaf is medal prospect for the school after securing a gold medal in the Macuata Zone Two competition.

“He is also going to take part in the 800m and he is eager to take on the challenge,” he added.

The team will depart Labasa on April 18 for the annual secondary school athletics meet.
