More than 2000 people showed up to witness the first Damodar City “The Fate of the Furious” car show.

The car show was sponsored by Total (Fiji) Ltd and was held at the Damodar City car park in Laucala Bay, Suva on Tuesday.

Forty sports car enthusiasts  showed off their latest and hard-earned modifications with a slight competition of best exhaust sounds with the bikers.

The show was a build up for the much-anticipated “Fate of the Furious” movie that premiered in Damodar cinemas in Suva on Tuesday.

The Damodar Group of Companies CEO Div Damodar said the show was to enhance and encourage young people with passion for cars.

“It brought in so much interest in youths with a passion for cars with unique modifications, graphics, and art works,” Mr Damodar said.

“And it also gave them an opportunity to not only boost their interest for cars, but also to be responsible road users.

“We have fantastic youths who have put in great effort in creating their cars and taking initiative to promote safe driving,” Mr Damodar said.

He said he was working on organising a bigger and better event next year.

“Next year, we want to make it a big show by including international fanatics take part too.

“This is a start of a very big event and we are looking to source the event at Damodar City in Labasa as well.

“We trying to expand the extra events to other parts of the country because our youths are very creative in Fiji and we want to provide them with a venue to explore and showcase their interests,” Mr Damodar said.
