Start Anew: Reverend Reminds Teachers

The importance and message of Easter was highlighted to the students of St Augustine Primary School in Labasa yesterday.
The school marked two events by celebrating Easter season and farewelling their headteacher Mosese Cabecuva.
The chief guest at the celebration, Christian Revival Church pastor Samson Jeet told the teachers and students that the meaning of Easter was Jesus Christ’s victory over death.
“His resurrection symbolises the eternal life that is granted to all who believe in him.
“The meaning of Easter also symbolises the complete verification of all that Jesus preached and taught during his three-year ministry.
“If he had not risen from the dead, if he had merely died and not been resurrected, he would have been considered just another teacher or Rabbi,” Mr Jeet said.
“However, his resurrection changed all that and gave final and irrefutable proof that he was really the son of God and that he had conquered death once and for all.
“Easter is more than a holiday.
“It is more than egg hunts and chocolate bunnies; more than decorations and pastels; more than flowers, candies, and sweets.
“Easter is even more than a time to spend with family, enjoying a nice dinner together, or spending time in church.
“Easter is all of these things, but also so much more.
“And while we hope you’ll have a chance to enjoy each of the above activities, we also hope you are able to experience the full joy of Easter.
“Easter, in a nutshell, is about redemption, through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we are redeemed and we receive new life, a fresh start,” he said.
