‘Easter is an important time for Christians to commemorate the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.’

Students of Nasekula District in Labasa celebrated Easter yesterday by re-enacting the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ through a drama.

Those that were present at the performance marvelled at the act by the children, who mapped out the Easter message.

Nasekula District School teacher Rupeni Seduadua said Easter is an important time for Christians to commemorate the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

More than 100 students, teachers and parents celebrated the event to mark the auspicious Christian celebration.

“Easter for Christians means Jesus, the son of God, rose from the dead – giving us victory over our sins, guilt and shame.

“The Easter is an important time for the Christians to commemorate the crucifixion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ,” Mr Seduadua said.

Students heard that according to the Gospel of Christ, Jesus was raised from the dead on the third day.

“After seeing the resurrected Jesus, all of the disciples dedicated their lives to proclaiming Jesus’ victory over death, which led most to die as martyrs,” he said.

“Because Jesus isn’t just a man, he is the Son of God,” Mr Seduadua said.
