Raiwai’s Kia Sparrow Youth club got a major boost when they received new sporting equipments in Suva on Thursday.

The donation came from their New Zealand partners Barry Gallegher and Margo Searle.

Club president Semiti Cagi told SUNsports that this would assist their Under-16 rugby side as they prepare for their Australian tour in August.

“We want to thank Gallegher and Searle for donating these sporting equipments to the club,” he said.

“They came to Fiji and were searching for a club they wanted to donate these equipments to. We were fortunate to get this chance. Our club consists of children from age eight to seventeen-years-old because we believe it’s easy to nurture them at this age category.

“Our aim is to develop these youths and get them engaged in sports rather than be caught up in criminal activities.”
