Top guns Suva Crusaders, Lakeba, Ono-i-Lau, Oneata, Moce and Nasinu have booked their spot for today’s quarterfinals of the 2017 Easter tournament.

The first quarterfinal sees Suva Crusaders take on Lakeba on ground three at 11.30am while Ono-i-Lau take on Oneata on ground one.

Moce and Nasinu await the final pool three game result between Brisbane Thunders and Nadi which will be held at 8am today. The winner will face Moce while the loser will face Nasinu in the fourth quarterfinal.

Cricket Fiji High Performance Unit manager Jo Rika also confirmed there would be new winners crowned by the end of the competition on Monday since defending champions Suva Warriors have been bundled out of the competition.

“It’s after one year since we are having the Easter competition again and we are happy with the way these teams have performed especially the island teams,” he said.

“There were three matches in this competition where teams had 200 runs and it was also good to see players batting longer, we saw how the knowledge and experience have grown among the players.”

Competition continues today at Albert Park in Suva
