Winning Start For Gallu Andra
The Rajal Mani captained- Team Gallau Andhra are on track to retain the 76th Dakshina India Andhra Sangam of Fiji (DIAS) Interdistrict Championship at Prince Charles Park, Nadi.
The Rakiraki side proved the side to beat with a 3-0 victory over Malolo (Nadi) in their pool opener yesterday. Goals from Ganeshwar Raju, Avikash Mudaliar and Daniel John sealed the win after leading 2-0 at the breather.
Team manager Satwan Naidu said they are confident of retaining the silverware.
“We dedicate this win to the people of Rakiraki who have worked tirelessly on and off the field,” he said.
The Prakash Chandra coached- Qeleloa side pipped Nasinu 1-0 in a torrid encounter through a Shamil Narayan special.
When this edition went to press Lautoka was leading Ba 2-1 while the Nadi – Tomuka clash was yet to be played.
Competition continues today.
