Rodan Continues To Shine

Fiji’s Mere Rodan and her team mate Sainimili Naivalu settled for a silver medal in the Oceania Para Championships at the Vodafone Arena in Suva yesterday.
They lost 3-0 to Australia in the women’s wheel-chair double event.
Rodan had earlier won the women’s single final 3-2 against Daniella Ditoro of Australia.
“I’m happy even though I lost my second final in the team event but I still managed to win my single event.
“I believe I did my best and after all it was just a game and one has to lose. Also when I was playing I was learning from my weakness. I think I performed well and it was a close match too,” Rodan said.
She dedicated her single women’s event win to her loved ones.
“I want to dedicate my win to my children, family back at home and also to my para colleagues,” she said
Rodan was also grateful for the support from of her para colleagues and supporters who took time out to support her during the three-day tournament.
The ITTF Oceania finals continue today.
