TISI Sangam AGM Cancelled

A court order was issued to cancel the Then India Sanmarga Ikya (TISI) Sangam from conducting its Annual General Meeting which was expected today.
National president Sadasiwan Naicker confirmed: “A court order came out on Thursday and thus there is an injunction so we can’t have the AGM.”
“We are confident that many are aware that (TISI) Sangam is transparent and has been doing well both financially and in operational side.
“So basically we are not worried about the AGM being cancelled.”
TISI Sangam is currently holding its annual convention in Labasa.
Yesterday, 100 Sangam elders were accorded lunch which was organised by the secretary general Damend Gounder at Labasa College.
“It is about showing appreciation to the people for their contributions even also for those who have touched the lives of others,” Mr Gounder said.
“Elders play a very important role. Because of them we are here and it is important we give them recognition.”
Meanwhile, the 90th Sangam Convention which started on Friday ends tomorrow.
