Global Hash Event Talks In Nadi

Harrier Magazine publisher Jim Edens is in the country as part of the buildup in Fiji’s hosting the Bula Interhash Fiji 2018.
Mr Edens who is in the country for one week had an interesting meeting with the lively Nadi Hash Harriers.
“This is a biggest international event of an organisation that has clubs all over the world including Europe, USA, Asia, Australia and New Zealand so people from all over the world will be here,” he said.
Fiji will host the international event in May next year.
The first international event was held in Hong Kong in 1978 and has grown bigger ever since.
“To the Hashers this is their big semi-annual event that happens for the entire world.
“I have travelled to many part of the world and many will be here in Fiji, majority of them has yet to visit Fiji and this is will be a big thing for Fiji,” he added.
“I am having a meeting with organisers and hope to get a very good feel of Fiji.
“Oh yeah it is look very exciting to be in Fiji for the event because we will expose Fiji to many people around the world.
“This will be one good reason to be part of it.
“I am here for a meeting with them on the event and will be visiting the capital city including some outer islands and basically to get a good feel about Fiji.”
Mr Eden joined the Hash mid 1980s in his birth place in San Diego, California before moving to Hawaii.
Nadi Hash Harriers president Dr Ram Raju said this was part of growing the event leading up to May next year.
“This is a big event and we are all looking forward with the various stakeholders to host a grand event next year,” Dr Raju said.
Mr Eden launched the Harrier magazine in 2002 at the Goa Interhash (India) and it come out every quarter with a print 50 pager magazine and 150 page magazine online.
It has subscribers all over the world by mainly hash harriers.
