Maintain Traditional Links: Chief Ro Teimumu Kepa told narovico villagers to keep connectng to Lomanikoro, Rewa

She emphasised the need for people in the province to work together during what she claimed as “this difficult time for Fiji.”
The Gone Marama Bale na Roko Tui Dreketi and paramount chief of Rewa, Ro Teimumu Kepa yesterday reminded villagers of Narocivo to maintain their link to the chiefly clan in Lomanikoro, Rewa. She was speaking to the villagers of Narocivo during their fundraising day yesterday.
The villagers of Narocivo are the elders (qase ni vale) of the chiefly clan of Valelevu of Rewa.
Narocivo village headman, Semi Tubuna recounted the stories told by their elders.
“During the tribal wars in the past, we were requested by the then-Roko Tui Dreketi, Ro Logavatu to find refuge in a land close to Lomanikoro Village as the village was attacked.
“On our journey to find new land, we came across Nadoi and Vunuku village which were all inhabited; we then relocated to a land called Mualekaleka which is now Narocivo,” Mr Tubuna said.
Ro Teimumu thanked the villagers of Narocivo for their support.

“Valelevu is what it is today because of the people of Mualekaleka whenever we needed people to come and carry out the work at the chiefly residence, and they did it to their best,” Ro Teimumu said.
Valelevu is also the name of the chiefly residence of the Gone Marama Bale Na Roko Tui Dreketi in Lomanikoro.
She emphasised the need for people in the province to work together during what she claimed as “this difficult time for Fiji.”
Ro Teimumu is the Leader of the Opposition and represents SODELPA in Parliament, but there has been speculation she could be linked to other political movements
Ro Teimumu also praised the work done by all village headmen in every village within the Rewa province.”

There are over 20 households in Narocivo village. Mr Tubuna said only 30 per cent were currently residing in Narocivo village while 70 per cent lived in urban centres or overseas.
