A man has had his case transferred to the High Court in Suva.

Taniela Masirewa appeared at the Suva Magistrates Court yesterday charged with aggravated robbery.

It is alleged that on April 14, 2017 at Brown Street in Suva,  Masirewa stole cash and assorted item to the value of $4645.

Magistrate Shageeth Somaratne transferred the matter to the High Court because it was an indictable offence.

Police prosecutor Corporal Josua Shaw objected to bail and informed the court that Masirewa had several previous convictions.

Corporal Shaw also served full phase disclosures.

Masirewa had sought Legal Aid assistance and was remanded.

The case has been adjourned to May 1, for first call at the High Court in Suva.
