Man Charged With Raping One-Year-Old Daughter
A 22-year-old man accused of raping his one-year-old daughter in Cakaudrove last week, appeared at the Labasa Magistrates Court yesterday.
The father, charged with one count of rape appeared before Magistrate Jeremaia Savou.
He told the court that he would represent himself.
Police prosecutor, Constable Abinash Prasad informed the court that it was an indictable offence and hence the case should be transferred to the High Court in Labasa.
Magistrate Savou transferred the case to High Court in Labasa for April 24 and told the accused that there he could make a bail application there.
Furthermore, he issued a domestic violence restraining order (DVRO) against the accused.
