All recipients under the Help for Homes initiative, can now use their pre-loaded MPaisa cards at RC Manubhai, Vinod Patel and Carpenters Fiji hardware locations throughout the country.

These include those in the second and third phases of distribution.

All three vendors have now been granted approval to participate in the second and third phases of Help for Homes Initiative after completing 95 per cent to 100 per cent of deliveries under the first phase.

Attorney-General and Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said he was glad that all retailers had nearly met their delivery targets under the first phase of distribution and that all recipients now had access to a wider range of hardware retailers.

“Now that these three companies have nearly met their delivery targets from the first phase of distribution, their re-inclusion in the second and third phase is a big step forward for our recovery efforts as our recipients can redeem their MPaisa cards at even more locations, access a wider range of products and find the best deals on materials they need to rebuild their homes,” he said.

So far under the Help for Homes initiative, approximately 32,450 Fijian households affected by Tropical Cyclone Winston have received pre-loaded MPaisa cards.

This can be used to buy materials from approved hardware vendors to begin repair works on damaged and destroyed homes.
