Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama on Wednesday received a donation of $200,000 from the Fiji – Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce towards the Prime Minister’s Relief and Rehabilitation Fund.

The cheque was presented to the Prime Minister by the Honorary Consul for Fiji to Hong Kong, Desmond Lee.

Mr Lee said the cash donation would assist Fijians affected during Cyclone Winston.

The Prime Minister welcomed the donation and expressed his gratitude on behalf of the Fijian Government.

Cyclone Winston was the second strongest cyclone to ever make landfall in the Southern Hemisphere, and we knew it would take years to reclaim everything we lost to the storm.

“We are still working hard to rebuild in severely affected areas, and this donation will be a big boost for our reconstruction efforts,” the Prime Minister said.
