The Fiji National Rugby League launched the 2017 Vodafone Cup competition at Albert Park, Suva yesterday.  FNRL chief executive Timoci Naleba confirmed that there are 18 clubs competing in the competition.

“The commitment shown by the clubs for this year’s competition is impressive,” he said.

“We are not looking at the World Cup but towards the next four years. What we achieve then will be determined from what we are going to do this year. Also, as we are working on a platform where we try to get the quality back into the game, which I believe is not about participation but is all about ensuring that we do every little things right.”

The Vodafone Cup competition starts today.
