It was all smiles, long hugs and kisses after the arrival of 35 Republic of Fiji Military Forces personnel at the Nadi Airport on Thursday night.

They served for 12 months in Sinai under the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO)

Like others Private Sakiusa Neisamu was relieved to finally meet his family again.

The Bukuya, Magodro, Ba native said: “It is great to be back at home, and I have huge plans to spend time well at home before returning to work.”

His wife, Kalara Neisamu, 33, was grateful to see her husband well and happy.

“I cannot ask for anything else, but to see him in one piece.

“He is looking forward to be with our children, especially our third child, Benjamin, who was only nine months when his father left for Sinai.”

Private Neisamu joined the RFMF in 2002 and has served in Sinai and Iraq.

Lance Corporal Nasoni Rakuvau from Nabaitavo, Naitasiri, was welcomed by his wife Sera Rakuvau and their three children.

Mrs Rakuvau said they have gotten used to the absence of her husband.

“My husband has been on many tours of duty including Iraq, East Timor and Sinai.

“We are grateful to see him return,” she added.

First timer to Sinai, Private Ifereimi Kunaika of Nabau, Tuva, Nadroga was just happy to be home. His mum and dad have been instrumental in his career. They were also at the Nadi Airport to welcome him back.

The next rotation of troops is scheduled next Wednesday.
