President Konrote Receives Credentials From Non-Resident Moroccan Ambassador

President Major General (Ret’d) Jioji Konusi Konrote on Thursday received the credentials from the non-resident Ambassador of Morocco, Karim Medrek.

Ambassador Medrek presented his credentials at the State House after inspecting a 25-member guard of honour by officers from the Republic of Fiji Military Forces.

Ambassador Medrek is a graduate of the Ecole Nationale d’ Administration – Diplomacy Major, Valedictorian and a graduate of the Atlanta Institute of Management Degree in International Negotiations from USA.

The ambassador held various senior positions in Government and at the Foreign Offices such as President of the Committee on the Charter of the United Nations. Since 2011 he was Director of Public Diplomacy and Non-State Actors for Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Co-operation.

Mr Medrek is also Ambassador to the Commonwealth of Australia, Vanuatu,  Kiribati, Fiji, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Tuvalu.

Ambassador Medrek is married with three children.
