23-Year-Old Misses Dad, Thanks Her Mum

23-year-old Language major graduate was wishing her dad was at her graduation at the University of Fiji in Lautoka.

“I wish my father was here to witness my graduation. It was his dream seeing me graduating,” said Meshal Manisha.

Ms Manisha received her Bachelor of Arts in English Language, Literature and Communication/ Hindi Language and Indian Culture and paid tribute to her mother for taking over the responsibility after her father passed away.

Ms Manisha said her mother struggled to support her and her younger brother but the hard work she put was bearing fruit.

“My three years of hard work has finally paid off,” Ms Manisha said.

“I am happy and thankful to my mother for supporting me with my education in all the way she could.”

42-year-old mother Ishnay Lata said she was proud of her daughter’s success.

“I am happy with my daughter’s accomplishment,” Ms Lata said.

“I am a single mother but I worked hard to support my daughter in her education.

“There were some ups and downs but without giving up, I have fulfilled all my daughter’s educational needs.”

Ms Lata runs a video library and the family resides at Sabeto in Nadi.
