The 27th annual conference of the Christian Mission Fellowship International started yesterday with participants from around the globe.

The conference is held annually at the World Harvest Centre in Kinoya, Nasinu, with this year’s theme set on ‘Empowering the Universe for Church Growth’.

World Harvest Centre media officer Fauoro Titifanua said this year they have delegates from around the world and missionaries who come home during this time and share their stories.

“This is a week-long of celebrations, a week-long of establishing new friendship and associations,” she said.

“It is an opportunity for people from around the nation and around the world to come and meet together. It also gives us an opportunity to partner with the missionaries with the work they are doing in the field.”

She said their work out in the fields was not just about spreading the Gospel but reaching out with the Gospel, declaring the word of God and demonstrating the love of God through projects and other services.

“We also reach out to the unreached tribes of the world. A tribe who has never heard the name of Jesus, we are there,” Ms Titifanua said.

“These tribes have primitive living conditions and don’t have access to basic needs. Our missionaries are there to fill the gap.

“It’s not only taking the Gospel but taking the holistic life of a human being.

“So when they come back every year, they come and tell us the story. Every night throughout the week we have dedicated it to each continent of the world.

“Every year, the conference is different because every year we have additional affiliated churches and missionaries.

“There’s always a growth in the conference.”
