Water pipes from Mokani at the junction of Cautata to Kaba Peninsula in Bau District are set to benefit around 4000 people.

The benefit will not only reach the villagers of Kaba, but the rest of the surrounding villages.

District representative of Bau Ratu Sake Matailevuka said he was happy to see the work, which is currently being handled by the Water Authority of Fiji (WAF), and looks forward to its completion.

WAF says the project is intended to be expected to by December depending on the weather.

WAF said this will boost water supply from Kaba Peninsula to Buretu and Nakelo.

WAF is currently working to complete the project as they outsource the water supply from the Raralevu reservoir. The authority is working to sort all intermittent water supply to the area instead of outsourcing it from the Nausori pipeline and Wainibokasai.

Ratu Sake acknowledged the work undertaken by Government to get safe drinking water to the villagers of the Bau District and looked forward to its completion.
